Celem niniejszej pracy magisterskiej jest analiza użycia imparfait narratif (czas przeszły niedokonany narracyjny) w artykułach prasy sportowej. Praca ta jest podzielona na trzy rozdziały : dwa pierwsze mają na celu przybliżenie nam zaplecza teoretycznego, natomiast trzeci stanowi część praktyczną. Pierwszy rozdział przedstawia ogólny zarys stanu badań nad czasem. Ukazuje opis różnych punktów widzenia odnośnie kategorii czasu, dzięki czemu pozwala właściwie określić naturę imparfait w języku francuskim. Drugi rozdział porusza problem aspektu i rodzaju akcji (Akionsart), dwóch pojęć związanych z czasem, które stanowią przedmiot licznych wątpliwości i kontrowersji. Ta część pozwala zrozumieć i scharakteryzować imparfait narratif mając na uwadze głównie cechy związane z aspektem.Część analityczna niniejszej pracy magisterskiej poświęcona jest analizie fragmentów artykułów, które relacjonują najważniejsze wydarzenia sportowe, znalezionych na stronach internetowych poświęconych najważniejszym aktualnościom ze świata sportu. Analiza ta pokazuje, że imparfait narratif bardzo często występuje w tego typu tekstach. Pełni on wówczas funkcję czasu przeszłego dokonanego i umożliwia następstwo wydarzeń.

The objective of this master’s thesis is to analyse the usage of imparfait narratif (past continuous narrative tense) in the sports press articles. The thesis consists of three chapters: the first two aim to familiarise us with theoretical grounds while the third constitutes the practical part.The first chapter presents a general research concerning the subject of grammatical tense. It is outlining various points of view regarding the category of tense thus helping to define the nature of imparfait in French in a proper manner. The second chapter centres on the problem of aspect and aktionsart; that is two notions of tense widely considered objects of doubts and controversy. This part allows us to understand and characterise imparfait narratif taking into account mainly it’s connection to aspect.The analytical part of this master’s thesis is devoted to the analysis of fragments of sports press articles related to the most important sports events as found on the Internet websites featuring the latest sports news. This analysis shows that imparfait narratif very often appears in those types of articles. The tense takes the same function as a past simple tense and makes the progress of events possible.

L’objectif du présent mémoire est d’analyser l’emploi de l’imparfait narratif dans des articles venant de la presse sportive. Le travail est composé de trois chapitres : les deux premiers visent à nous familiariser avec les fondements théoriques, tandis que le troisième constitue une partie pratique du présent mémoire. Le premier chapitre présente l’état des recherches sur le temps grammatical Il est centré sur la description des différentes prises de position sur le temps et, de cette façon, permet de préciser le statut et la nature de l’imparfait en français. Le second aborde le problème de l’aspect et du mode de procès : les deux notions relatives au temps qui constituent l’objet de nombreux doutes. Cette partie permet de comprendre et caractériser l’imparfait narratif du point de vue aspectuel.La partie analytique de ce mémoire s’applique à l’analyse des fragments des comptes rendus relatant des évènements sportifs les plus importants trouvés particulièrement sur des sites Internet consacrés à l’actualité du sport. Cette analyse montre que l’imparfait narratif apparaît assez souvent dans ce type de textes. Il reprend le rôle d’un passé défini et permet l’avancée des évènements pricipaux de l’action.
