Celem pracy było przygotowanie edycji źródłowej inskrypcji z epitafium biskupa Pawła Piaseckiego z kościoła opackiego w Mogile. Praca została podzielona na trzy rozdziały i aneks.Pierwszy rozdział pracy został podzielony na trzy podrozdziały. Pierwszy odpowiada na pytanie czym jest epitafium oraz jaka jest geneza jego powstania. W drugim i trzecim podrozdziale zostały scharakteryzowane epigrafika i heraldyka, jako nauki pomocnicze historii wspierające historyka w prowadzeniu badań nad epitafiami.W drugim rozdziale zostają scharakteryzowane wybrane najważniejsze edycje epigraficzne w Polsce po II wojnie światowej – wybrane tomy Corpus inscriptionem Poloniae, Instrukcja wydawnicza dla źródeł epigraficznych (jako podstawowy dokument określający aktualne zasady wydawania źródeł epigraficznych w Polsce), Pomniki epigrafiki i heraldyki dawnej Rzeczypospolitej na Ukrainie oraz Inskrypcje polskich grobów na cmentarzach Podola.Rozdział trzeci skupia się na osobie Pawła Piaseckiego i jego epitafium. W pierwszym podrozdziale nakreślono biografię biskupa i opata, w drugim opisano jego epitafium – jego historię, aktualny stan zachowania, inskrypcję i historię jej edycji.Aneks zamykający pracę zawiera edycję inskrypcji wraz z tłumaczeniem na język polski, co ma ułatwić zapoznanie się z jej treścią szerszemu gronu odbiorców.

The aim of this thesis was to prepare the edition of inscription from the epitaph of Bishop Paul Piasecki from the Abbey church in Mogila. The thesis was divided into three chapters and the appendix.The first chapter of the work was divided into three subsections. First of them answers to the question what the epitaph is and what is genesis of his creation. In the second and third subsection there were characterized epigraphy and heraldry, as auxiliary sciences of history supporting the historian in the conduct of research about epitaphs.In the second chapter selection of the most important epigraphic editions in Poland after World War II is characterized - selected volumes of Corpus Inscription Poloniae, User Publishing Manual for epigraphic sources (as a basic document setting out the rules of publishing the epigraphic sources in Poland), Epigraphic monuments and heraldry of the former Republic of Ukraine and Inscriptions Polish graves in cemeteries Podolia.The third chapter focuses on the person of Paul Piasecki and his epitaph. The first section outlines the biography of the bishop and abbot, the second one describes his epitaph - its history, current state of preservation, the inscription and the history of its editing.Appendix closing work includes editing of inscriptions with translation into Polish, which makes it easier to read for a wider audience.
