Niniejsza praca poświęcona jest stosunkowo nowemu zjawisku, jakim jest dark tourism, a szczególnie turystyka katastroficzna, która jest jednym z jej rodzajów. Ludzi zawsze interesowała ciemna strona życia - strach, zło, zbrodnie, a w konsekwencji także śmierć. Jeśli jeszcze to zło, ta śmierć była poprzedzona cierpieniem, jakimś ogromnym wydarzeniem czy zjawiskiem lub dotyczyła dużej liczby osób, to bardzo szybko stawała się zdarzeniem globalnym. Przy obecnej dostępności do informacji każdy z nas może poznać przykre wydarzenia, które miały miejsce w innej części świata. Warto tutaj zauważyć, że media takim informacjom przyznają palmę pierwszeństwa. Takie miejsca przyciągają ludzi, których kierują bardzo różne motywy. Ale skoro przyjeżdżają, to pozwólmy im takie miejsca zobaczyć, przeżyć tą katastrofę, wydarzenie, a przy okazji zarobić, oferując nocleg, wyżywienie, pamiątki czy inne usługi. Autor w pierwszej części pracy przybliża dark tourism i turystykę katastroficzną, wykorzystując do tego jej definicje, podział, cele, motywacje turystów oraz przykłady. W drugiej części autor przytacza katastrofy, które miały miejsce na świecie w latach 2001-2014, dokonując ich analizy pod kątem miejsca, terminu wydarzenia czy ofiar. W ostatniej części opisane są miejsca kilku katastrof, które stały się lub mogą się stać atrakcjami turystycznymi. Są to m.in. Ground Zero, Nowy Orlean czy elektrownia atomowa w Czarnobylu. Autor wykorzystał do tego badania ankietowe oraz prace naukowe zagranicznych badaczy, a także reportaże dziennikarskie czy artykuły z internetowych portali branżowych.

This paper addresses is a relatively new phenomenon, which is dark tourism, especially tourism catastrophic, which is one of its kinds. Humans have always been interested in the dark side of life - fear, evil, crime, and consequently death. If you have this evil, this death was preceded by suffering, some huge event or phenomenon or related to the large number of people, it very quickly became a global event. With the current availability of information each of us can know the sad events that took place in another part of the world. It is worth noting that the media admit to such information undisputed leader. These places attract people who are guided very different motives. But once they arrive, then let them such places to see, survive this catastrophe, event and by the way to earn, offering accommodation, meals, souvenirs or other services. The author in the first part of the work brings dark tourism and tourism catastrophic, using its definitions, classification, goals, motivations of tourists and examples. In the second part the author cites the disaster that took place in the world in the years 2001-2014, making their analysis in terms of place, time event or victims. In the last part describes the space of several disasters that have become or may become tourist attractions. These include Ground Zero, New Orleans or a nuclear power plant in Chernobyl. The author used to this survey and scientific work of foreign researchers, as well as journalistic reports or articles from industry portals.
