The first part of the study discusses the role of dance in culture. The multicolored elements of the Hungarian traditional dance culture were analyzed, as well as the dance and dance traditions of the Carpathian Basin as a charakteristic region in Europeran dance culture. For a better understanding of the subject, a detailed breakdown of Hungarian dances, regions and historical conditions is presented. By presentinf Hungarian types and dialects of dance, the characteristic of the dances of the regions concerned, their characteristic forms and configurations, and their diversity are brought closer. The second part is a preservation of two distinctive styles of Hungarian dances (old and new style), their historical traits and their own dances. The new style has been described in detail in relation to the two characteristic Hungarian dances: verbunk and csardas.
