W artykule porusza się kwestię możliwych interpretacji dwóch, różnych formalnie, wyrażeń w sytuacji wypowiedzi publicznej polityka. Na tle charakterystyki tak zwanego języka polityki, rozumianego nie jako język specjalistyczny w ścisłym znaczeniu tego terminu, lecz jako specyficzny sposób komunikowania się polityków, przeprowadzone zostało badanie obu wypowiedzi pod kątem ich możliwych interpretacji (odniesień konotacyjnych i aksjologicznych), a co za tym idzie funkcji perlokucyjnej każdej z nich. Analiza prowadzi do wniosku, że pomimo formalnych różnic oba stwierdzenia pełnią podobne funkcje i odwołują się do podobnych znaczeń skojarzeniowych. Czynią to jednak za pomocą różnych metod i oddziałując na różnym poziomie świadomości odbiorcy komunikatu.

The article touches the problem of possible interpretations of two, formally different, phrases in the context of political statement. The research concentrates on examining both phrases from the point of view of the connotational meanings and axiological values attributed to its particular parts, and – in the consequence – the perlocutional function of each statement. The analysis has been conducted against the background of the characteristics of so called political language, understood not as language for special purposes in the exact meaning of the term, but as a specific way of communication of the politicians. The analysis leads to the conclusion that, in spite of the formal differences, both statements perform similar functions and refer to similar associational meanings. They do it, however, by means of different methods and by exerting their influence at different levels of receiver’s consciousness.
