W artykule przedstawiono w zarysie aspekty prognozowania w polityce publicznej. Przyjęto, że w procesie formułowania jej założeń, z uwzględnieniem różnych uwarunkowań, możliwe jest wykorzystanie metodologii umożliwiającej prognozowanie jej skutków. W tekście poruszono zagadnienia zarówno teoretyczne, jak i metodologiczne. Dodatkowo przedstawiono trzy przykłady na poparcie tezy głównej.

This article presents an overview of the aspects of forecasting in public policy. One may assumed that in the process of formulating its objectives, taking into account the different conditions, it is possible to use methodology to predict its effects. The paper discusses both theoretical and methodological issues. Moreover, the article presents three examples to support the main thesis.
