Abstract in English
An intellectual and artistic exchange between Polish philosopher Wincenty Lutosławski (1863-1954) and the actor-director Juliusz Osterwa (1885-1947) started in 1925 in Wilno and lasted until the latter died in 1947. Before they met, they had tried to reorganize (in theory and in practice) the social environment in Poland. The article shows the activity of Lutosławski and Osterwa as deeply rooted in Christian monasticism and developing such ideas as an eremia (a deserted place), an ordo - an ascetic discipline of community life and the institution of a spiritual leader (abba).
