Z drugiej natomiast - obnażyła dyskomfort i ślepe uliczki towarzyszące temu trendowi. Uaktywniła potrzebę pielęgnowania więzi nasyconych emocjami i wartościami.
Pandemic diaries are the aftermath of a literary competition announced by the Institute of Literature. The diaries document how the authors dealt with the shock from the COVID 19 pandemic, as well as the accompanying threats and activity constraints. The advent of the pandemic marked a turning point in the lives of the authors. It forced a change in lifestyle, habits, value systems, emotions, relationships with other people. The authors of the diaries devote much attention to death. They are starting to see that they have so far ignored the fact that people die every day. Several ways of dealing with fear for yourself and your loved ones are repeated in the diaries. Some turn to God's providence. Others, more or less consistently, limit contact with the environment. Fortunately, only a handful of authors have experienced an extreme emotional crisis. The state of the pandemic is a spiritual exercise that authors of diaries and the authors of this book must undergo. Up to now they experienced everyday life a little unknowingly, just as they breathe without paying attention to this life activity. The extraordinary state of the pandemic makes it necessary to re-learn the world and somehow deal with a vital disorientation. The pandemic and the inconveniences that go with it make the authors also redefine their place in the structure of social distances. The authors write about the deterioration of their economic situation and their loved ones. They also note that different social strata experience the pandemic crisis unevenly. Remote work is special sign of the pandemic. Some people are skeptical about it, while for others it is an excellent solution. The interpersonal space in which the authors of diaries live is changing. On the one hand, the pandemic accelerated the process of replacement of direct interaction by distance contacts. On the other hand, it activated the need to cultivate bonds saturated with emotions and values.
