Zagadnienie sprawiedliwości pojawiające się w kontekście etyki badań biomedycznych z udziałem ludzi, ma związek zawsze z kwestią sprawiedliwego podziału ryzyka, i korzyści pomiędzy uczestników badań biomedycznych. Wyjątkowo interesujący jest ten wątek w dyskusjach nad rozwiązaniami metodologicznymi, które umożliwiają sprawiedliwe traktowanie uczestników badań klinicznych przy jednoczesnym zapewnieniu wiarygodnych rezultatów takich badań. Dyskusje te obejmują wówczas takie zagadnienie jak sprawiedliwa randomizacja, zasada równowagi, kwestię adaptacyjnych badań klinicznych a także zasady etycznego użycia placebo w badaniach biomedycznych. Poniższe opracowanie będzie dotyczyć tych właśnie zagadnień, z wyłączeniem problematyki użycia placebo w badaniach klinicznych.
