Film Alice Rohrwacher pod tytułem Cuda (Le Meraviglie, 2014) można uznać za ilustrację konceptu heterotopii sformułowanego przez Michela Foucaulta w latach sześćdziesiątych, co stanowi jeszcze jeden dowód na to, że jest on we współczesnym kinie jedną z najchętniej podejmowanych idei dotyczących postmodernistycznej przestrzeni w zglobalizowanym świecie. Heterotopia w Cudach dotyczy zarówno poziomów czasowych, jak i relacji przestrzeni rzeczywistej i medialnej.

Alice Rohrwacher's The Wonders (2014) can be seen as an illustration of the term of heterotopia, as coined by Michel Foucault in the 1960s. Thus, it constitutes, next to such films, as Lost in Translation (2003), Taxi Teheran (2014) or Victoria (2015), yet another proof that heterotopia is one of the most prominent ideas used in the contemporary cinema to represent postmodern space in a globalized world. Heterotopia in The Wonders concerns both the temporal level as well as the relation of reality to its media image.
