Phenomenology's departure towards the light : ethical sense of Edmund Husserl's transcendental question

Niniejszy artykuł stanowi analizę trzech motywów leżących u podstaw filozofii Husserla, które konstytuują etyczny sens fenomenologii transcendentalnej: wolności, prawdy i odpowiedzialności. Naszkicowany zostaje ich sens i znaczenie w myśli greckiej, której mądrość została zaprzepaszczona przez "zbłąkany racjonalizm". Fenomenologia Husserla odkrywa człowieka jako wolny podmiot transcendentalny, który jako warunek wszelkiego bycia-danym, nakierowany jest na prawdę. Tylko realizacja tego dążenia i kierowanie się oczywistością w życiu praktycznym i teoretycznym pozwala na istnienie autentyczne. Dzięki zastosowaniu redukcji transcendentalnej fenomenologia odsłania przed człowiekiem jego właściwe powołanie i ukazuje ukryty wymiar jego istnienia. Zajęcie postawy fenomenologicznej przypomina w pewnym sensie wyjście z platońskiej jaskini. Z owej jaskini nieautentycznego życia chce wyprowadzić nas Husserl. Fenomenologia jest zatem wyjściem ku światłu, wyjściem ku odkrytemu światłu zapomnianej odpowiedzialności.

The present article is the analysis of three motifs which are at the core of Husserl's philosophy and which constitute ethical sense of his transcendental phenomenology: the liberty, the truth and the responsibility. There is outlined their sense and importance in Greek thought, whose wisdom was lost by "a mistaken rationalism". Husserl's phenom-enology reveals the human being as a free transcendental subject who, as a condition of every being-given, is directed to the truth. Only realisation of this endeavour and following the evidence both in the theoretical and the practical life enable to live authentically. Thanks to application of transcendental reduction, phenomenology reveals a hidden dimension of existence. Taking phenomenological attitude resembles, in one sense, departure from Platonic cave. Husserl wants us to leave that cave of inauthentic life. Then, phenomenology may be considered as a departure towards the light, departure towards revealed light of forgotten responsibility.
